Prediction Panel: Feb. 15 Kings vs Blue Jackets

Kings' Prediction PanelIs anyone else tired just playing the Western Conference?

Everyone was excited when the lockout was finally over. Excitement was at an all-time high when the Kings raised the Stanley Cup banner. Friends finally reunited over the sport they loved to get this Stanley Cup title defense underway.

Thing is, this nonsense of only playing in your team's Conference really takes the inward out of the sails. How can I get excited about seeing the Kings play the Blue Jackets for the second times in ten days?

The only thing I'm excited about is seeing Jonathan Bernier again. When Jonathan Quick signed his 10-year, $58 million contract, Bernier's time in L.A. seems limited. So I want to see him succeed, not only to boost his trade value, but also boost his self esteem. Who likes to be a backup?

Bernier played brilliantly last game and it seems he'll get another start tonight. I also hope the Kings' offense gets a start. I keep waiting for the other skate to drop, when the team realizes they are one of the deeper teams in the league and start scoring like it.

I hope they aren't looking past the Jackets to Sunday's rematch with the Chi-Hawks. But I think they might be, so my guess will be that L.A.'s offense will still be sluggish. Kings 2, Blue Jackets 1.

How did the other Royal Prognosticators uh, prognosticate this game? Behold…

Reed from Crowned Royal

Score: Kings 3, Blue Jackets 0

Reason: Yeah, I said it.

Record: 6-3

Jesse from All The Kings Men

Score: Kings 8, Blue Jackets 1

Reason: Jack Johnson

Record: 5-4

Ryan from Make Way For The Kings

Score: Kings 5, Blue Jackets 2

Reason: The Kings have had success against Columbus this season and with Martinez out, the offense will feel the pinch and become motivated to step up their game.

Record: 5-4

Perfect prediction: 1 (2/5)

Andros from LA Kings Fight Night

Score: Kings 4, Blue Jackets 1

Reason: Only if Bernier starts in goal.

Record: 5-4

Perfect prediction: 1 (2/5)

Paul Ambruster from Kings News Daily

Score: Kings 3, Blue Jackets 0

Reason: Because anything less than a stellar performance by Jonathan Bernier would make for far too little drama during the lead up to Sunday's game.

Record: 4-5

Hipcheck from Lets Go Kings

Score: Kings 5, Blue Jackets 2

Reason: I wish we could play Columbus 20 times a season. Jack Johnson will score once against the Kings this season...and will still finish on the negative side of the plus minus ledger.

Record: 4-5

The Royal Half from The Royal Half

Score: Kings 77, Blue Jackets 0

Reason: Jeff Carter's revenge

Record: 4-5

Surly Jacob from Surly And Scribe

Score: Kings 3, Blue Jackets 1

Reason: Oh the old 'battle for 12th place'. An epic struggle, once rendered moot if Calgary wins against St. Louis.  Still, Quick has something to prove and the Kings need to tally up consecutive wins, so the Blue Jackets will just have to play to their strengths and lose.

Record: 4-5

Perfect prediction: 1 (1/25)

Robert from Jewels From The Crown

Score: Kings 4, Blue Jackets 1

Reason: Jack Johnson is still Columbus' number one defenseman.

Record: 3-6

Neisy from Jewels From The Crown

Score:

Reason:

Record: 3-6

Jon from Kings News Daily

Score: Kings 5, Blue Jackets 2

Reason: We know Jack.

Record: 3-6
