Prediction Panel: Feb. 7 Kings vs. Predators

Kings' Prediction PanelFirst off, congrats to Reed from Crowned Royal and Ryan from Make Way For The Kings for accurately predicting the Kings' 4-2 win over the Blue Jackets on Tuesday. Three predictors have called the score perfectly this season, which is surprising, since The Dirty Dozen's picks have been so varied.

The Kings' offense is slowly getting up to speed. Thanks to Mike Richards' Gordie Howe hat trick last game, it looks as if the team is shrugging off any talk of a Cup hangover.

The Kings' defense continues to be a sore spot, however, with turnovers and missed assignments plaguing the blueliners. Jonathan Quick is earning his 10-year, $58-million contract the hard way, and he needs more support up front.

The Predators are hitting on all cylinders and are currently on a three-game winning streak. Pekka Rinne has been a rock: he's stopped the last 65 shots he's faced, and the Preds haven't allowed an even strength goal since  the third period against the Coyotes back on Jan. 28.

This will be another tight game, and will go down to the wire. And much like their last matchup, this one will go to a shootout. Only this time, the Kings will prevail, sparking the team on to their own winning streak.

Final score: Kings 2, Predators 1 in a shootout. How did everyone else see this game play out? Observe...

Andros from LA Kings Fight Night

Score: Kings 2, Predators 0

Reason: Because Matt Murray will have his face painted at home,
yelling at the television when the Kings win.

Record: 4-2

Reed from Crowned Royal

Score: Predators 3, Kings 1

Reason: The Predators are a good team. Not sure who ever thought otherwise.

Record: 4-2

Perfect prediction: 1 (2/5)

Ryan from Make Way For The Kings

Score: Kings 4, Predators 3

Reason: LA will keep up their offensive ways while Nashville will keep up for the most part given their three-game winning streak.

Record: 3-3

Perfect prediction: 1 (2/5)

Jesse Cohen from All The Kings Men

Score: Kings 4, Predators 2

Reason: It's a 4 - 2 league.

Record: 3-3

Paul Ambruster from Kings News Daily

Score: Kings 3, Predators 1

Reason: Another grind against a strong defensive team but this time the Kings get the better of Rinne with goals from Doughty, Carter and Brown.

Record: 3-3

Hipcheck from Lets Go Kings

Score: Predators 2, Kings 1

Reason: Kings popped 4 against the hapless BJs but as we saw last week the Preds arent going to give up a lot offensively...historically
the Preds always plays the Kings tough anyhow so offensive woes and history are working against the Kings here.

Record: 3-3

Robert from Jewels From The Crown

Score: Kings 2, Predators 0

Reason: Kings have turned a corner but have yet to play a complete game. Nashville isn't the team they were last year. They'll play another tight one, but the Kings' talent will be to much for them to overcome this time.

Record: 3-3

The Royal Half from The Royal Half

Score: Kings 1, Predators 0 (shootout)

Reason: It  goes to Round 22.... but eventually Special Assignment Coach, Bernie Nicholls, scores the 1st goal of the shootout giving the LA Kings the victory.

Record: 3-3

Surly Jacob from Surly And Scribe

Score: Kings 2, Predators 1

Reason: Preds are getting on a roll, winning their last 3 games.  Tennessee is a state of rock and roll.  Consider the Kings the rock.  And no, I don't know what that means.

Record: 3-3

Perfect prediction: 1 (1/26)

Jon Gillette from Kings News Daily

Score: Kings 3, Predators 2 (shootout)

Reason: Reckoning

Record: 2-4

Neisy from Jewels From The Crown

Score: Kings 3, Predators 2

Reason: Hopefully they will be able to get by the wall of shot blockers this time around. Hmph.

Record: 1-5
