THI436: The Fourth Period's Dennis Bernstein

The Hockeywood Insider podcastIt seems there is no rest this summer for The Hockeywood Insider podcast.

This week, we talk about the two big trades the Kings were involved with that brought Mike Richards from Philadelphia and sent Ryan Smyth to Edmonton. Talk about a different look to the roster next season.

Dennis BernsteinWe are also joined by the Fourth Period's Dennis Bernstein, who breaks down the trades for us, as well as giving us his observations about what it will do to the roster and the locker room, and what he expects Dean Lombardi to do during next week's free agency period. (Psst. he thinks Dean will kick the tires on a left wing.) He also talks about what he thinks about TSN's Bob McKenzie and how he "broke" the Smyth trade news. (Psst, he has no problem with Bob.) He also sets the record straight about Mark Howe's Hall of Fame credentials. Dennis has some great insight on what the franchise may do coming up here this summer, and it's a great conversation.

I also "apologize" for taking McKenzie to task last podcast, but only partially. Not Jesse, who really launches into the state of the media, and the newsworthiness of certain stories, like the Smyth trade request. He somehow ties Lindsay Lohan into his argument about public figures and their standing in the media. He also used apocryphal correctly. Classic Naysay comments.

Finally we talk about other stuff, like the draft, moink balls, the Winnipeg Jets and their new mascot Jett Thrasher, fans whose teams move away from their city should give up their fan card, how Jesse would beat up a Kansas City Kings fan wearing a Gretzky jersey, and speaking of new jerseys, the Kings news road jerseys. Jesse also brings up C.M. Punk, in a rare role reversal.

Don't forget, you can subscribe on iTunes, so you can get the podcast before anyone else does. And don't forget to like the show on Facebook.

Jesse. If you have such a problem with Bob McKenzie, why don't you ask him for an appearance on your podcast?

Also think about it. You are one NHL player on a playoff team and you ask for a trade making 6 million dollars, !1! year prior to becoming free agent and you prevent your GM with a NMC to even get fair value back. Don't you deserve at least some finger pointing?
