THI435: Stanley Cup Wrap-Up

The Bruins won the Stanley Cup and all is right in the world.

Jesse and I put a button on the 2011-11 season by taking a look at one of the best Stanley Cup series of recent memory. We also poke fun at the "riot" in Vancouver and poke holes at "the picture" that was widely circulated of the kiss in the street amid the bedlam. Is that picture is as iconic as the one of the sailor macking on that nurse on VJ Day? Yeah, we don't either.

But as we try to do, we bring it around to the Kings and, for once, I work myself into a lather over the fuzzy reporting from TSN's Bob McKenzie that Ryan Smyth asked to be traded. It's pretty funny to hear the roles reverse, but the message is also important: reporters should be accountable for their stories, not hide behind anonymous sources and actually get quotes from the topics of their stories.

We also review two movies (since we ran out of hockey talk this week). Jesse gives his review of his long-awaited Green Lantern movie, while we both chime in on Super 8.

Don't forget, you can subscribe on iTunes, so you can get the podcast before anyone else does. And don't forget to like the show on Facebook. The Hockeywood Insider: almost better than an Otter Pop in July. Almost.
