The end of the season is almost within sight, and the Kings continue to establish themselves as bonafide playoff contenders. Since we are nearing the end of the season, we bring in the big guns.

This week, we are joined by Rogers Sportsnet, Mike Brophy. Mike talks about the biggest topic at the GM Meetings: player safety. He talks about Mario Lemieux's comments about penalizing the teams who continue to rack up repeat offenders, and he asks the big question: "If you alter the way the game is played, is there a way the sport could pick up more new fans?" Other topics include Gary Bettman's five-point plan, Bruce Boudreau's comments to miffed fans, as well as the crowded Western Conference race, as well as the story of the season is the tale of New Jersey. We've been chasing Mike for a while and he was nice enough to give us some great commentary.

Jesse also connects with Friend Of The Show Daryl Evans, who gives us the skinny about the Kings' point of view from the trenches. He talks about the mindset of the team and how they are taking it one game at a time.

He also comments about how Anze Kopitar has taken control of this team, and how he's flourished with linemates Justin Williams and Dustin Penner. He also talks how Penner has fit in the locker room, both with his teammates and coaching staff. He also mentions how the other lines will need to keep their work ethic up once the playoffs arrive. He also talks about Dean Lombardi and how he seems to have all the right pieces in place for this playoff push. We also crown a King of the week, I screw up stats to make a point, Jesse states he hates line nicknames unless they are "organic" and calls me a "crazy nutjob." You know, the typical show.
