Five For Fighting invades Calgary, gives the Kings a shoutout!
Before Sunday's Heritage Classic Game between the Calgary Flames and the Montreal Canadiens, singer/songwriter John Ondrasik and his one-man band, Five For Fighting, performed his song, Chances, as the players from both teams walked out from the locker rooms. At the very end, John wishes the players well, followed by a hearty "Go Kings!" The Calgary crowd booed lustfully when he did that. (Listen at the 3:35 mark)
Turns out, John has been a lifelong fan of the Kings, and his band name actually came from the fight between Marty McSorley and Bob Probert. Ondrasik should have his jersey number retired high atop the rafters of Hockeywood! Good on ya, Johnny!!! Check out his interview with our very own Heidi Androl!
