THI401: Fox Sports' Lyle Richardson

The fourth season (!) of The Hockeywood Insider starts this week, with the end of Hockey Fest and the beginning of rookie camp. Everything is coming up hockey.

This week, we are joined by Fox Sports' NHL blogger, writer for The Hockey News, Eishockey.com and his own website, Spector's Hockey, Lyle Richardson. Lyle comes on and kicks the new season off right with the prognostication that he favors the Kings going to the Stanley Cup. (!!)

Lyle goes on to talk about a myriad of other topics, such as some unabashed Drew Doughty respect, who he thinks will come out of the West with the Kings, how the Red Wings continue to be the franchise to aspire to, and whether or not he would trade Ryan Smyth and next year's first round draft pick to Montreal for the 1993 Stanley Cup banner. (Lyle was originally a Canadiens fan.)

Jesse also was at this past weekend's Hockey Fest, and he talks briefly about what he saw. We also touch on the rookie camp and just how important it will be this summer to try and go to the kids to fill out the roster.

It's nice to be back in the groove of things, and we're continually trying to bring new voices to the show. Don't forget, you can subscribe on iTunes, so you can get the podcast before anyone else does.

The Hockeywood Insider podcast: recommended by four out of five podcast listeners for great hockey talk. (The fifth person suggested chewing Trident. Go figure.)
