Celebrity sighting No. 1! Well, sort of.

Singer Taylor Swift performed at Friday night at Staples Center. And when she came out to sing a song, she was wearing an alternate Kings jersey. With her name on the back. And the No. 13 stitched on it. Much like she did for the Predators , when she unveiled their new third jersey this season during a concert. And in Phoenix. And Pittsburgh.

Now, I understand some musical performers will get a cheap pop from the audience by coming out and playing in that city's leading sports team. (Like Shania Twain) But it was pointed out over on LGK:

"...if you think she was just playing to the crowd or pandering, she could have always taken the easy way out and wore a Lakers jersey."

After all, she was spotted at a Kings game earlier this season with Taylor Lautner , and she was also seen last season with Disney Channel funny girl Demi Lovato. Heidi Androl even got an interview with them during the game.



But I think this reeks of Gary Bettman. This has be a ploy by the NHL to reach out to non-traditional fans. And nothing says hockey than a 20-year-old country western singer singing with a sparkly guitar.

Then again.... she is hot.
