Weekend Returns: Cramming the box office

Sam Worthington in 20th Century Fox's Avatar - 2009

Something remarkable is happening in the movie world. Avatar keeps climbing up the all-time money list. If it can keep going on this arc of success at the box office, it will firmly entrench itself as the No. 2 highest-grossing movie of all time.

And since Titanic holds the No. 1 spot, that makes James Cameron the most powerful man in Hollywood. How sick is that? He takes over a decade and spent somewhere in the area of $300 million dollars making the flick, and he's going to be the director of the top 2 highest-grossing movies of all time. Impressive.

You know what else is remarkable? You guessed it, the Kings. They snapped a four-game losing streak with solid wins against two quality opponents (The Sharks win wasn't included, as it is THIS week). Plus, their game against the Capitals on Saturday was their third straight sellout. Words is getting out that the Kings are must-see at Staples.

Where does this leave the Peeps in Purple and Black? Let's take a look.
