Kings finally to get some regular coverage on ESPN... sort of.

On Monday, the new ESPNLosAngeles.com site went live. Well technically, it was live Sunday night. And upon the launch, there was already stories populating the site for each of the different sports in the Southland. Primarily, the site is going to focus on the Lakers, the crown jewel of L.A. Already, there were four chats with different Lakers entities.

As for the Kings... well, there's some stuff. Tom Murray (No Relation) had a nice article about the status of the Los Angeles Kings after so many season of mediocrity.
It's the Kings' time. And it's about karma, too. About what goes around coming around. For years -- no, decades -- the Kings were a glaring example of how not to build a hockey team for long-term success. It was all about now, instant gratification, forget about thefuture. Trade away picks for overpriced and over-the-hill veterans. And we all know what happened.
There's an article by Robyn Norwood, breaking down the differences between the Kings and Ducks this season.
George Parros is a Duck who used to be a King, and the reversal of fortunes for Southern California's NHL teams blindsided him.
"No one saw it coming," said Parros, who last played for the Kings in 2006. "Or maybe they did, and we didn't, I don't know."
There's also a video featuring former Kings coach Barry Melrose, talking about the flip-flop of the fortunes between the Kings and the Ducks.

So now there's yet another voice covering the Kings. I'm excited to see one media outlet that has decided to forge ahead in these uncertain economic times. Bang on, ESPN. Welcome to the fray!
