Nilsson's shootout goal lifts Oilers over Kings

H0ckeywood Tonight

So, the Kings now have the Oilers right where they want them. The momentum is firmly on their side, and they spend some time setting up the play. Sometimes they get too cute with the puck, but only because they aren't getting a lot of defensive pressure from the Oilers. Edmonton just looks tired and worn out from the Kings' unrelenting attack.

Jack Johnson gets whistled for hooking, putting the Oilers with a man-advantage with less than a minute left. That's a lot of ice out there, and other than a few standard Quick saves, nothing happens the rest of the game. And we are heading into a SHOOTOUT!

O'Sullivan slowly skates in and tries to fool Roloson, but is denied.

Gagne zig-zags quickly and pops one past Quick.

Frolov tries to muscle one under Roloson, but fails

Nilsson skates a wide arc in, and stops, causing Quick to flop on his butt, and Nilsson just tips it past Quick for the Edmonton win.

Final score: Oilers 3, Kings 2 (shootout)
