Another fine Bettman blunder

As I was tooling around online during work, I came across this picture of Kings rookie defenseman Drew Doughty, standing with Toronto rookie Luke Schenn, Tampa Bay's Steven Stamkos and Phoenix's Mikkel Boedker, holding up some sort of award. I was intrigued, because the cutline just stated that they were "presented with awards by NHL commissioner Gary Bettman." Upon further investigation, I found this second pic...

Now, other than the odd look on Bettman's face, I still had no idea what this award was for. I can make out a puck of some sort, and an inscription at the bottom. Then I realized, I could open the original in Photoshop and find out what exactly Drew was being presented with. Well...

Turns out, Bettman presented Drew with the lineup sheet from Steve Stamkos' first NHL game! Now go back and look at that Bettman picture and tell me what you see?

The disrespect for Doughty continues during the YoungStars telecast on Versus. Doughty, playing for the Rookie squad, had several fine breakaways during the game, yet the home viewing audience on Versus didn't see them, for they were showing other highlights. Drew did finally score, although no one saw it. However, I found photographic proof that he did!

Suck it, Carey Price!

Finally, I came across this photo from Saturday night's Bud Light NHL Concert, featuring these life-sized ice sculptures of hockey players. No word if Bettman tried to chat one of the sculptures up, thinking it was a real player.
