Terry Murray not happy with Ersberg's performance

Every journalist has done it, asked that one question that clears a room. Friday night, after the Kings got handed a heartbreaker by Edmonton, it was my turn.

Starting this current stretch of 20 games, coach Murray stated that he was going to split the load and give each goaltender 10 games.  Ersberg was yanked after allowing three goals in the first period, and was spelled by LaBarbera, who always plays the Oilers well. Coming into the game, Labs was 4-0 against Edmonton the past three seasons.

So, when asked about how the game went, Murray spent no time pointing out that the responsibility fell solely on Ersberg. He went to talk about allowing the players to figure out how to step it up and take charge, as the presser wound down. Thinking that since LaBarbera had just faced 30 shots in two periods, I asked if maybe Ersberg would be in goal for the second of the back-to-back games. Well, you can see how that ended...
