Steven who?

Congratulations should go out to Drew Doughty, the Kings 2008 first round pick, who scored his first NHL goal against the Colorado Avalanche Monday night. There had been much debate about who the Kings should've drafted even before they finished bottom in the West. Steven Stamkos was a popular choice of many Kings fans.

Personally, I felt that the Kings had plenty of scoring, and that if the Kings actually secured a top pick, they would be wise to select a defenseman. Lo and behold, Drew Doughty was selected by Dean Lombardi. As of Monday night, the Kings three rookies of Doughty, Wayne Simmonds and Oscar Moller have all tallied a goal. Stamkos? Nothing.

Nice pick, Dean.
