GAME ON! Name the Kings' top line!
Now that it's being reported that Patrick O'Sullivan will finally be reunited on the top line with Brown and Kopitar, I thought I should renew my contest: Name The Top Line. It was kind of hard to garner interest when Patty O was on the second line (and playing very well, I might add.) But at practice Wednesday, coach Murray made the call. So the top line will appear on Thursday when the Kings take on the Canucks.
As everyone remembers, in the late 70s and early 80s, the Kings boosted the Triple Crown Line featuring Marcel Dionne, Charlie Simmer and Dave Taylor. This line made NHL history when they each scored 100 points in the same season in 1980-81, the first line to do so in the NHL's history. Triple Crown was an obvious reference to the Kings crown logo on their chests.
So now, the line of Kopitar, Brown and O'Sullivan needs a nickname befitting of royalty. Perhaps the Brown Crown Line, with team captain Brown getting top billing? How about the Kings of Schwing? The Crown Royal line? Two Americans and a Slovenian? What say you?
Since my Eklund: Champion of Truth and Justice contest failed to have a single rated PG-13 entry, I figured what a better chance to try again by having another contest! Come up with your favorite nickname for the Kings' top line of Brown, Kopitar and O'Sullivan and we'll put it up to vote amongst the citizens of Hockeywood. The winner gets a brand-spanking-new "I'm Down with the Crown" t-shirt, courtesy of myself (what a guy, I know) as well as some other goodies. (Hey, I'll try my best to hook you up, I promise).
Here's a few guidelines here. Choose one and email us at lifeinhockeywood@yahoo.com. Make sure you leave an email where you can be reached, in case you are the winner. We'll set up voting when we get enough entries. So far we have several serious contenders. So please, send in your suggestions so we can finally name the Kings' top line!

Brown's Crowns, The Royal Line, The Crown Jewels or even the Kopibrowivan Line...LOL

Or what about...
"The Triple Threat", "The Purple Knights", "Duck Hunters", "Knight Line" or "The Crown Royal Line" and go after a new sponsor? Or even "The Knight Riders" and do an NBC tie-in for that show.
